Jotun arrived, was beautiful, and was also excellent. Yet so often with smaller studios the question remains; How do you follow up a breakout hit? It's what proves a studio and allows them to continue rising. SuperGiant did it with Transistor, Amplitude did it with Dungeon of the Endless and thatgamecompany did it with Flower.
Sundered is Thunder Lotus Games' chance to prove themselves once more, and already it's looking promising:
All the hallmarks of Jotun remain; gorgeous artwork, vibrant, hand drawn animations and intense action. Given the rise of the mediocre metroidvania I'm glad to see a beautiful, fresh take on it.
The game is slated for 2017 and I can't wait.
